Eirrem and Genetta Siamese cats are bred for their very gentle temperaments as well as their beauty. Mostly Blue & Lilac pointed, sometimes Tabby and occasionally Seal, & Chocolate.

The Eirrem & Genetta pedigrees have been traced back to the first imports into the country from the King of Siam, in the late 1890s & early 1900s.

The Eirrem prefix was registered with the GCCF in 1975 and the Genetta prefix in 1990. Those with the Genetta prefix have Tabby, Red, Cream or Tortie pointed cats (‘32 series’) in their pedigree, whilst those with the Eirrem prefix are all ‘24 series’.

Both the Eirrem and Genetta Blue and Lilac pointed cats are well known in the Show world for their pale coats and correct points colour for their breed.

After more than thirty years living at Romsley in the west Midlands, the household have ventured north to Scotland and are now happily living in Perthshire.

The Eirrem and Genetta Stories

In 1973 my sister bought me a Blue point Siamese kitten for my Christmas present and she was of course called Merrie Christmas. She had a pure ’24 series’ pedigree. We already had an old rescued seal point Siamese neuter (Harry) and assumed we knew all about Siamese cats, but rapidly discovered there was a lot to learn.

Merrie was a very boisterous kitten and much too intelligent for us to cope with, nothing like old Harry. My first prefix was Eirrem (Merrie backwards). I bought my first tabby point Siamese Merescliff Marisela in 1990 from Liz Mackenzie-Wood. She was a lovely blue tabby point and later became a Champion.

To keep the pure ‘24 series’ breeding lines distinct from the Tabbies I registered a second prefix, Genetta. The small genet (Genetta genetta) is a wild cat with a very pronounced ringed tail.
